We found it did better with medium and darker roasts. Lighter roasts were still good, but lacked the same brightness you would get from say a V60 pour over. However, that’s not to say it was a bad cup. The cup was still very clean and did have clear tasting notes, just not quite as bright as manual methods.
With tea, it did a great job with both bags and loose leaf. We used green tea, oolongs, peppermint and also tried an iced hibiscus tea recipe. All of them were refreshing and brewed perfectly.
